How to kill a henned up gobbler."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve all been there.\u00a0 After a promising bit of calling while the tom is on the roost, he gets down with some hens and is locked up for a while.<\/p>\n<p>This great video from youtube channel &#8216;The Natural Calling&#8217; features them running into this exact situation and how they work through it.\u00a0 As you&#8217;ll see the trick for them is to work the hens, getting them to break from the group, and come in to investigate the potential rival.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually the hunter moves closer to the group.\u00a0 Finally, the tom comes in and they are able to get it done.\u00a0 Goes to show you should stay on the tom and sometimes you can get them to come in, even though they are henned up.<\/p>\n<p>I hope everyone is staying with it&#8230;the weather is starting to warm up a bit and we&#8217;ve got quite a bit of spring turkey season left in Michigan!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve all been there.\u00a0 After a promising bit of calling while the tom is on the roost, he gets down with some hens and is locked up for a while.
